My Life as Liz

January 19th, 2010 -- Posted in I know | No Comments »

I don’t surely certain what to make of My as Liz, MTV’s undertake to join the gap between The Hills and The Office. I get that these MTV fact shows are on the whole pretty heavily scripted anyway, but this one feels congenial it was written by someone who’d seen a lot of Christopher Guest and Coen Brothers films and captivated all of the immoral lessons from them. At the same , it has a classification of goofy charm to it, and it’s pleasant to see MTV noticing commoners who aren’t either overly rich and/or living on the coasts.

But then you face at how it seems to break nearly everyone in the middle of the country to a vague series of stereotypes, and you see it’s just the same old MTV stuff, and it’s more engaging as an attempt to gradate sitcom and reality show. Or c peradventure vice versa. My as Liz is a show about a quirky, Alterna-hipster minor named Liz Lee, who lives in close town Texas and bonny much hates everyone she comes into telephone with, treating them with a derisive sneer. She’s with the Internet comments section of MTV, which is mostly based around giving shows to the kinds of consumers she makes frolic of. Liz has a series of portly best friends, all guys who are rather clearly in her thrall and game to do just about anything so she’ll keep hanging out with them (and c eventually fall in love with one of them).
