The Cougar varsity closed out its preseason affray games with a Saturday nightfall match against Louisville Butler in the definitive trick of the Male Jamboree, in Louisville. The character in the game, especially at the end, was Grayson County fruitless free-throw shooting.
The Cougars went to the fringe 30 times, but hit just 14 of them for 46 percent. Johnston led the Cougars in scoring with 15 points, including three three-pointers, and added four assists. Smith finished with 14 points and also pulled down four boards. Saltsman hit double-figures with 12 points.
Gary and Buckler had four points each, Skaggs finished with three points and led the span with five assists.
